Richard and I want to inform you that the winter Sectional scheduled for October 23rd to 25th and the Holiday Regional scheduled for December 26th to 31st have both been cancelled.  Last week we received notice from ACBL that they have cancelled all of their tournaments through the end of 2020 and also will not provide any tournament directors for any tournaments through the end of the calendar year.  That alone makes it impossible for us to hold any tournaments.  Richard has been in contact with the regional manager for the Sheraton and they have agreed to waive any penalties for this year's regional.  He has also contacted The J to cancel both the Fall and Winter Sectionals without any penalty to us.  Both the Sheraton and The J are looking forward to hosting us in the future when tournaments will be possible.

I know that this is a disappointment to you and others, but our primary concern has to be for the health and safety of our member and tournament participants.  When the COVID pandemic becomes a thing of the past or when an effective vaccine is widely available, we will all look forward to being able to host tournaments again.  In the meantime, I look forward to playing with you in online tournaments.
